the Samsung Galaxy S III

It is reported that Samsung emailed, tweeted and blogged Monday about a May 3 event in which reporters are being invited to "have a First look of Galaxy." At this party in London, it is expected that Samsung will uncover the Samsung Galaxy S III.
The Galaxy S III would be the successor to the Galaxy S II, which was never a single phone, but rather a listing of devices with designs and features according to the job and carriers in different countries. Its size will very 4.3-inch and 4.5-inch screens.
Although the Galaxy S II has been the leading Samsung Android device for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, the nation's largest carrier, Verizon, has avoided the S II altogether. Instead, Verizon has gone all-in with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first handset to boast the Android 4.0 operating system.
By all versions, the Galaxy Nexus is currently Samsung's best Android phone, its single-carrier limitation notwithstanding.
But what will happen when the Galaxy S III is released?
This is a complicated question to answer by the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note, which has been a surprise hit for Samsung. More than 5 million Galaxy Note units have been distributed in market.
While Samsung is making variety of phones for different markets, carriers and countries, it's difficult to anticipate where the Galaxy S III will be vested in.
"Samsung is producing multiple smartphones with leading-edge specs and, yes, that does make it tough to figure out which one their flagship phone is," Rubin told Wired. "But Samsung is one of the few companies out there that can make a lot of different phones with different functionality, geared toward different markets, that can all be considered flagship phones somewhere. “Irrespective, when the Galaxy S III is exposed, the smartphone will be worthy of flagship status for at least a few carriers.
"The basic idea behind launching new Galaxy Nexus is to provide a pure Google Android experience. The Galaxy Note, which has the largest screen size of any handset in a major carrier portfolio, is clearly about maximum screen real estate and the S-Pen for notes, annotation and drawing. Each device has its tradeoffs and Samsung is trying to find best way to meet the market demands"
"Just because there are so many versions of the Galaxy S II, and the Galaxy S before it, is because the Galaxy S line is about establishing a high-end baseline and having broad carrier reach," he said.
"The whole point is to sell as many of those phones as possible, so what they're going for is top-of-the-line specs, but also mainstream consumer needs."
“It is predicted that the Galaxy S III will have a 4.7-inch screen, quad-core processor, an 8+MP camera, 4G connectivity and (of course) a custom, Samsung-skinned version of Android 4.0. The Galaxy S II had almost-as-large screens, a dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and 4G data support.”
"unfortunately, if Galaxy S III is just like the Galaxy S II, but with slightly better specifications, then I think Samsung will have a tough time selling it as differentiated product,"
It is also argued that: When we compare the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S, Apple's hardware specs are remarkably similar. In effect, Apple's most successful phone launch ever was built on the back of an extra CPU core, an improved camera, and a clever voice-recognition system with natural language comprehension.
"It’s a common reality that Samsung's brand is not Apple-strong yet, People don't know if Samsung will ever reach that emotional level for the brand from the consumer standpoint. And that's what makes this question of 'Will the Galaxy S III be a big flagship phone?'
So, it is Samsung's best opportunity to make the Galaxy S III a successful and would be introducing a ground-breaking new technology, she said.
"People don't think phones can get that much thinner, and they don't think that there is no need to get much bigger. If Samsung can launch a phone with a flexible display, something they've been experimenting with for a while now, then they have great chance to win the heart of people.. If they don't do something like that, they might have a hard time getting enough people to see the Galaxy S III as a truly differentiated product."

Why many people think Apple will make a TV set?
Most of analysts are showing their concern about Apple's (AAPL) plans to make a television -- an actual TV set, not just a set-top box --
They have "increased confidence" that Apple's iTV is coming, they say into their published forecasts the revenue from its sales: 2 million units in the second half of 2012 and 10 million in 2013. He even factored in a "halo effect" for what they now believes will be called iPanel, whereby anybody who buys one will also purchase either an iPad or an iPhone.
Hold for a while. How do we know this thing is coming?
There are three reasons:
Moreover, there are plenty of excellent reasons Apple would NOT want to get into TV manufacturing business.
Dealing with the cable companies that control the local delivery of content is like dealing with mob.
That said, there are a lot of people shouting for Apple to do what it does best: plane and simplify the propagation of remotes, the tangle of cables, the nightmare interfaces that is today's television.

Hold for a while. How do we know this thing is coming?
There are three reasons:
- Reports that small quantities of polarized films, filters, and IGZO components have begun to ship to Apple's Asian panel suppliers.
- Reports Apple is doubling the size of its already massive North Carolina data center.
- The $800 million Hon Hai (A.K.A. Foxconn) spent to buy a 50% interest in Sharp's large-panel TV plant in Sakai, Japan.
Moreover, there are plenty of excellent reasons Apple would NOT want to get into TV manufacturing business.
- The market is crowded with low-cost producers
- The margins are terrible
- The machines are big and heavy and often require professional installation
- They need large retail display areas and lots of warehouse space
- There's no single global market. (It's NTSC in the U.S., PAL in Europe.)
- People tend hold on to the TVs for decades. (Apple prefers to sell products that get frequently replaced -- every two years for iPhones, every three years or so for Macs.)

Up to 2x faster processors and 2x faster graphics.
Next-generation quad-core and dual-core Intel processors.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro now features a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 processor or the fastest dual-core processor available - the 2.8GHz Intel Core i7. With Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.5GHz, these processors allow the 13-inch MacBook Pro to perform up to twice as fast as the previous generation.
But we couldn't leave fast enough alone. The new 15- and 17-inch models bring quad-core power to almost everything you do. The available 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6GHz and up to 8MB of shared L3 cache - enables these MacBook Pro models to run applications up to twice as fast as their top-of-the-line predecessors.
The graphics performance you need, when you need it.
The integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor - now included across the MacBook Pro lineup - handles the things you do every day. It encodes video quickly, making HD video calls with FaceTime possible. And it decodes efficiently, so you get long playback time for DVDs and iTunes movies.
For graphics-intensive applications, the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro models automatically switch to new high-performance AMD Radeon graphics processors. With up to 2x the performance of the previous generation,3 they let you see more frames per second in 3D games, or work on HD video projects with more speed and responsiveness than before.
introducing Thunderbolt.
The fastest, most versatile I/O ever in a notebook.
Imagine accessing multiple streams of uncompressed HD video - from your notebook - at speeds that let you edit an HD feature film in real time. That's how Thunderbolt technology will connect the next generation of high-performance peripherals to the next generation of computers - starting with MacBook Pro. Ultrafast and ultraflexible, the Thunderbolt pipeline is up to 12 times faster than FireWire 800 and up to 20 times faster than USB 2.0, and it offers unprecedented expansion capabilities. It changes what you can do on a notebook.
The Thunderbolt port will give you plug-and-play performance with a whole new world of Thunderbolt peripherals, as well as with the Apple LED Cinema Display and other Mini DisplayPort peripherals. You can daisy-chain as many as six devices, including your display. And with support for video and eight-channel audio, it's easy to connect HDMI-compatible devices - like your TV and home stereo - using the HDMI adapter you already have. Current VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort adapters are also supported.
The new FaceTime HD camera. The difference is clear.
Get more of your friends in the picture with crisp, widescreen HD video. The new FaceTime HD camera gives you three times the resolution of the previous camera - perfect for the brilliant LED-backlit display - along with improved low-light performance. You and your friends can make 720p HD calls from your MacBook Pro to any Mac with a FaceTime HD camera. You can also make video calls to iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch, and other Intel-based Mac computers.
Multi-Touch trackpad.
Be more hands-on.
The Multi-Touch trackpad is the most natural way to interact with what's on your screen, and the smooth glass surface gives you plenty of room for gestures. Pinch to zoom in and out, swipe to flip through photos, rotate to adjust an image, and much more. The buttonless design lets you click anywhere. And if you're coming from a right-click world, you can right-click with two fingers or configure a right-click area on the trackpad. The more you use the Multi-Touch trackpad, the more you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
A long-lasting battery. Charge less. Do more.
The new MacBook Pro delivers amazing battery life. And that's with more powerful processors and faster graphics. An energy-efficient processor architecture with an integrated video encoder, along with automatic graphics switching in the 15- and 17-inch models, all help improve battery life. So you can expect to surf the web wirelessly for up to 7 hours on a single charge.5 Or take your entire creative studio on the road for live performances or a location shoot. Advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging give you up to 1000 full charge and discharge cycles - nearly three times the lifespan of typical notebook batteries.6 And because the MacBook Pro battery lasts up to five years, MacBook Pro uses just one battery in the same time a typical notebook uses three. That's better for you and for the environment.
Apple is using a new, more rigorous battery test that measures the results you can expect in the real world - like surfing your favorite sites in a coffee shop or catching up on the latest web videos. Even using this new test, MacBook Pro delivers amazing battery life. For your real life.
It's very well connected.
When you're out and about, the latest 802.11n wireless technology in MacBook Pro makes it easy to get connected just about anywhere.7 MacBook Pro automatically finds available networks and allows you to join them with a click. Bluetooth wireless technology is also built in, so you can use your favorite wireless accessories right out of the box.
Ports with possibility.
With the new Thunderbolt port, you can daisy-chain as many as six devices, including your display, to create a full-fledged workstation. Two USB 2.0 ports (three on the 17-inch MacBook Pro) and a FireWire 800 port let you connect your iPad, iPod, iPhone, digital cameras, and external hard drives.
The new SDXC card slot on the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro models supports up to 64GB cards and makes it a snap to transfer all those photos to and from your MacBook Pro, so you can edit and share them on the spot. And the ExpressCard/34 slot on the 17-inch MacBook Pro is perfect for an eSATA adapter - or even a 3G wireless card for times when no Wi-Fi network is available.
Burn DVDs superfast.
After using iMovie and iDVD to edit and apply the finishing touches to your home movie, use the 8x SuperDrive on MacBook Pro to burn it to DVD in no time. Since the SuperDrive writes to double-layer discs (DVDs with nearly 9GB of space), it's great for backing up data, too

Features
The DMC-FZ50 boasts a 10.1-megapixel high resolution CCD for its image sensor and Venus Engine III for the image processing LSI, making it possible to record a image at max. ISO 1600 high sensitivity setting at full resolution. Furthermore, by dramatically reducing the noise levels that challenged its predecessor, the DMC-FZ50 is able to capture 10.1-megapixel full resolution images even in high sensitivity recording.
To fight against the major cause of blurred images, Panasonic invented the MEGA O.I.S. system taking advantage of its superior lens technology to compensate for handshake - a feature which has long been incorporated into the LUMIX range of cameras. In addition, to also compensate for the other major cause of blurred images - movement of the subject - the FZ50 is also equipped with the worlds first Intelligent ISO Control (hereafter I.I.C.) within the advanced image processing LSI Venus Engine III. When set to the I.I.C, the Venus Engine III detects the subjects movement and adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed to best suit the subject movement and the light condition automatically. Panasonics excellent image stabilizing system allows users to take clear, crisp images in any situation automatically, leaving everything to the camera.
From a point of view of further improving the usability of its predecessor, the DMC-FZ50 is equipped with a new Function Button which serves as a shortcut to quickly set frequently-used settings such as recording image size, light metering, AF area, white balance, and ISO sensitivity. Also, thanks to the newly incorporated custom setting function, your frequent setting patterns can be memorized and it can be instantly applied by simply selecting this function with the mode dial. The 2-inch LCD flips out to 180 degrees, making it easier to view even when shooting from high or low angles. As for optional accessories, the DMC-FZ50 is now compatible with TTL external flashes. Finally, the battery life is greatly extended by approx. 29% compared with its predecessor allowing the FZ50 to shoot approx. 360 images on one charge (CIPA).
The LUMIX DMC-FZ50 faithfully inherits the well received basic specifications from its predecessor FZ30 such as the manual focus ring and manual zoom ring, yet enhances the image sensor up to 10.1-megapixel. Noise is drastically reduced with this new FZ50 achieving a rendition of even higher quality images. The DMC-FZ50 is bound to spark the imagination of high-end users and join the Panasonic LUMIX high-end model lineup.
Based on the CIPA standard.
10.1-megapixel CCD and f/2.8 12x optical zoom LEICA DC lens
The DMC-FZ50 includes a 10.1-megapixel high resolution CCD and the f/2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 12x optical zoom (equivalent to 35 mm to 420 mm with a 35 mm film camera) lens. The lens unit is comprised of fourteen elements in ten groups including three aspherical lenses and an ED lens, All these are incorporated to generate low distortion and high optical performance while preserving the compactness of the unit. The Extra Optical Zoom, made possible by using the center part of the 10.1-megapixel high resolution CCD, further extends the powerful 12x optical zoom to up to 21.4x for 3-megapixel image recording (17.1x for 5-megapixel and13.4x for 8-megapixel recording). High resolution images with richer gradation are always assured with these LEICA DC 12x optical zoom lens and the 10.1-Megapixel CCD.
More than just a MEGA O.I.S., LUMIXs image stabilizing system further evolves
Taking advantage of its superior lens technology, Panasonic invented the MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) system to fight against the major cause of blurred images. It compensates for handshake and is now featured on the entire LUMIX range, and has been highly evaluated and appreciated by the users across the world. Every slight hand-shake movement is detected accurately with the sampling frequency at 4,000 times per second and will be compensated to render clear, sharp images. In addition, movement of the subject, the other major cause of blurred images, is suppressed by the advanced image processing LSI Venus Engine III with the Intelligent ISO Control (hereafter I.I.C.) and max.ISO1600 high sensitivity recording capabilities. The worlds first incorporation of this I.I.C. allows the automatic adjustment of the suitable ISO setting and shutter speed that best suits the situation by analyzing the speed of subject movement. If the subject is moving, the ISO setting would automatically rise to allow high shutter speed. On the other hand, if the subject is still and no movement is detected, you can take beautiful natural images with a low ISO setting.
Accordingly the new LUMIX automatically takes the best countermeasures against any causes of blurred images with MEGA O.I.S. compensating for hand-shake and the I.I.C. compensating for movement of the subject. Image stabilizing system is further evolving with LUMIX.
